The competition not only showcases academic excellence but also promotes a sense of camaraderie among the students, encouraging them to work collaboratively toward a common goal. Participants develop essential skills such as time management, problem-solving, and effective communication, which benefit their overall personal and academic growth. Additionally, the Decathlon instills values of discipline, perseverance, and integrity, aligning with the St. Dominic School’s mission of holistic education. By preparing students for academic rigor and teamwork, the Academic Decathlon fosters confidence and lays the groundwork for future success.

ALTAR SERVERS

Altar serving is a meaningful opportunity for St. Dominic students to actively participate in the Mass and deepen their connection to their faith. By assisting the priest during liturgical celebrations, altar servers gain a firsthand understanding of the rituals and traditions of the Catholic Church. This role fosters a sense of responsibility, discipline, and reverence as students commit to regular service and learn the importance of punctuality, attentiveness, and respect. Altar serving also helps our young Catholics grow spiritually, giving them a unique perspective on the sacredness of the Eucharist and other sacraments. Beyond spiritual enrichment, serving at the altar builds confidence, public poise, and teamwork as students collaborate with clergy and peers. This formative experience encourages a lifelong dedication to faith and community, often inspiring greater involvement in church activities and a stronger moral foundation.

STUDENT CHOIR

Joining a student choir is a beautiful way for St. Dominic students to actively engage in their faith and contribute to the beauty of the Mass. Through singing hymns and liturgical music, choir members play a vital role in enhancing the worship experience for the congregation, fostering a deeper connection to the sacred liturgy. Participation in the choir helps our students develop their musical talents, discipline, and teamwork skills as they commit to rehearsals and collaborate to create harmonious performances. Singing in a choir also nurtures self-confidence and public poise as students learn to perform in front of an audience. Spiritually, being part of a choir allows students to meditate on the profound meaning of the lyrics they sing, enriching their understanding of their faith. Beyond the spiritual and personal growth, student choirs build a sense of community, creating lasting friendships and shared memories while inspiring a lifelong love for music and service to the Church.
