Theater Arts
At St. Dominic School we strive to nurture all aspects of a child’s development, and participation in the arts is an important component of a well-rounded education.
All students in Transitional Kindergarten through eighth grade take Art, Theatre Arts and Music classes.
On stage and behind it
-
Performance skills
Students work on voice and diction, movement, improvisation and character, then put those skills to work in scenes they rehearse with classmates.
-
Working as a company
Theatre is a team art. Students learn to take direction, support each other on stage, and handle the work that happens behind the curtain.
-
Confidence that carries over
Standing in front of an audience builds poise that students carry into presentations, interviews and the classroom.
Theater Arts is also a middle school elective
In sixth through eighth grade, students can choose Theater Arts — along with Clay Lab, Yearbook, Musical Theater, Watercolor and Crossfit Kids — as their arts elective.
